Common Name: Indian Charcoal Tree, घोळ Gol, कापशी Kapshi, खरगोळ Khargol

Distribution: India: Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil nadu

Habitat: Semi-Deciduous forests and plains

This tree grows very fast.

Leaves
Mostly leaves are present all the time on this tree, but during March-April, leaves are renewed.

Flower
Male and Female flowers are separate but on the same tree. Flowers appear in dense clusters. Flowers do not have any petals. Male flowers has lobed calyx and 4 to 5 stamens. Female flower 2 style and sepals but sepals are smaller than that of Male flower. 







Fruit 
Fruits are tiny, green when raw and turn black when they ripe. There is just one seed in the fruit.
Fruits are eaten by birds.
