28. Ziziphus oenoplia


Botanical Name: Ziziphus oenoplia (L.) Miller[Rhamnaceae]
Common Name:

Distribution: hotter regions of India and tropical Asia, Australia
Flowering class: Dicot
Habit: large thorny Climber, also can be present in Shrubby form
Habitat: Moist and dry deciduous forests, also in the plains
Flowering and Fruiting: Flowers in July-September, Fruiting from September to January

The Plant
The plant grows in a form of a shrubby scandent way when young. The mature plant is in the form of woody climber.

Thorns : the thorns are arranged opposite to each other on the stem and one thorn is straight and other one is curved.
