Botanical Name: Habenaria plantaginea Lindl. [Orchidaceae]
Common Name:  कदली हबेअमरी Kadali Habe-amri, Plantain Orchid, Plantain Habenaria

Distribution: India: Central India, North West India, Peninsular India, Assam, Bihar, Sikkim,
                                Tripura;         
                      Bhutan, Nepal, Myanmar, Thailand
Habit: Herb
Habitat: moist places in Semi-Deciduous, Semi-Evergreen forests
Flowering and Fruiting: September to October , This plant has very interesting flowering pattern. Throughout the rainy season, this plant grows but never flowers, as soon as the rain stops, within a week or so, the flower buds appear and the plant starts flowering after the rains have gone, i.e. late in the September and early October.
