Rohdea japonica [Asperagaceae] - Japanese Sacred lily, this plant is considered good luck both in Japan and China, its broad long leaves symbolise long life and immortality. Flowers are strangely shaped.

Lechanorchis japonica [Orchidaceae] - a rare and beautiful orchid

Lecanorchis is a genus of orchids that are usually found on the mountain forest floors across Southeast Asia, including India.

If you had thought that there is a flower behind every fruit, you may have to think again.

Japanese scientists have found an orchid that turns into a fruit without blooming. They recorded the flower, Lecanorchis nigricans var. Nigricans in Kami City of Kochi Prefecture, which remains a bud and slowly turns into a fruit. This behaviour is called cleistogamy, where the flower self pollinates. Cleistogamy has been reported in some members of the grass family also.

Here's some information which I found quiet interesting with respect to some plants. The source of information is a book called 'Ayurvedic Drugs and their Plant Sources' by V. V. Flacourtia indica is used in preparation of a drug/decoction  called as 'Aghori'.  There is no mention of this drug in any Ayurvedic texts, but Ayurvedic physicians in Kerala use this decoction as a part of their Ayurvedic medicines. 2.
